We are Women’s Best – a community of strong, diverse and powerful women. Every single one of us is different and that is what makes our community strong. We are constantly empowering one another so that we can help each other in becoming the very best version of ourselves. This is what we want to celebrate on this year’s International Women’s Day.
In addition, we want to send a clear message to all women around the world: We are stronger together. We stand together against discrimination and we are finally calling out gender bias and stereotypes. Therefore, seven of our athletes came together to challenge common stereotypes that they face as women. They shed light onto these challenges and, by doing this, we seek to strip away the power of these stereotypes in a playful way.

What is International Women’s Day?
International Women’s Day is a global day dedicated to honoring the achievements of women throughout history and all across the globe. Celebrated every year on March 8, it also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality around the world.
This year’s topic: #ChoosetoChallenge
The topic of International Women’s Day 2021 is #ChoosetoChallenge. At Women’s Best, we gave seven of our athletes a platform to speak about common gender stereotypes that they face every day in the fitness industry. We let them speak about their own personal experiences with these stereotypes, and they showed us how they fight back against discrimination on a daily basis.
What our 7 Women’s Best athletes want to tell you
Although each of our seven female athletes have different backgrounds, they experience the same challenges, face the same criticism and similar obstacles throughout their own fitness journeys. In the video, we asked our seven athletes to share their experiences with gender stereotyping and further, the most common challenges encountered by their communities. Our athletes want you to overcome these challenges and prejudices in your everyday life: All in the spirit of #StrongerTogether!
And one takeaway is particularly important for all of you strong women on International Women’s Day: Don’t let criticism and prejudice control you. It is not only about the challenges that we face every day, but moreover about the celebration of overcoming the challenges together. Enjoy their message and always remember: You are special – no matter what other people say.
